Description
Aihki is a pine tree that after reaching a certain age the branches fall off leaving a small crown at the top of the tree.
In an Aihki , the heartwood is an extremely durable and strong material.
At an even later stage, if the tree remains standing, the quality of the wood becomes what is known as Kelo.
When Aihki and Kelo are cured in water, the surface pattern and grain remain visible.
In buildings made of Aihki or Kelo wood, you can see the marks of craftsmanship and tradition.
